I found a picture of this woman on Pinterest and thought she would be pretty fun to draw in graphite because of her definite features and shadows. I really like how she turned out because I think I proportioned her face very well and shaded in the correct places. I also think I captured her stringy hair well.

This is another portrait I drew of my friend Emily in graphite. I used her school photo as my reference. I think it turned out okay, I could've darkened her hair and the shading on her face a little more. Although the shading isn't very dark, I think that I got her eyes perfectly as well as her eyebrows.

Emily's portrait
This is a portrait of my friend that is in progress and is drawn in graphite. So far I'm happy with this piece because I like how dark the values in her hair are, but I still have to continue shading her face and upper body.

I found the inspiration for the piece on Pinterest. The frog was a seperate photo from the design I found. Then I saw a sunset and I decided I was going to color the photo in with ombre colors.
I started the piece outlining the basic shape in pencil. Then I drew the designs in with sharpie. After I finished all of the details I colored the frog in with cool colors.
The detail and various colors on the frog represent the many different types of species there are. I made the frog have very large eyes because when you initially look at frogs it is the first thing you notice. The design on the tree branch represents the different habitats that the frogs live in.
I think this piece turned out very well because the details are drawn very well. I also think the colors I chose blend together nicely. Although I have no idea what is on the left side of it's face, it still turned out nicely.

I got the inspiration for this piece from a picture I scrolled over on tumblr. There were three pineapples designed differently so I took the idea and came up with new designs. They were all colored differently also so I did that.
First I drew the pineapple in graphite and then drew in the designs with graphite. After I drew it, I colored the leaves in then the designs. After the initial base color, I shaded the fruit a little.
This piece represents the beauty of the the pineapple. The colorful designs show the different places the fruits come from. The bright green leaves coming from the fruits mean that the fruits are ripe and ready to eat.
I really like how the project turned out overall. The sharpness of the lines and colors make it look really good. I also think the leaves are blended really well.

I drew this woman in graphite in about an hour. Personally, I think she turned out pretty good for just a sketch because I think the details in her lips and eyes are very well done. I also like the texture I got in her hair and the slight cheekbone shadow. If I were to redraw this portrait, I would finish her bust and darken the values a little more.
