5/1/15

I found a picture of this woman on Pinterest and thought she would be pretty fun to draw in graphite because of her definite features and shadows. I really like how she turned out because I think I proportioned her face very well and shaded in the correct places. I also think I captured her stringy hair well.

This is another portrait I drew of my friend Emily in graphite. I used her school photo as my reference. I think it turned out okay, I could've darkened her hair and the shading on her face a little more. Although the shading isn't very dark, I think that I got her eyes perfectly as well as her eyebrows.

Emily's portrait

This is a portrait of my friend that is in progress and is drawn in graphite. So far I'm happy with this piece because I like how dark the values in her hair are, but I still have to continue shading her face and upper body.
This is the finished piece. I think it turned out very well for being only the second portrait I drew of someone I know. I like how dark I got the values of her hair and the details in her shirt. If I were to continue with this piece, I would probably darken the shading on her face and arms.
