I drew this lonesome barren tree on sharpie as well as the empty bench underneath the tree. This picture was taken in New York near my grandparents house and I decided to use it for the photography piece assigned in drawing because I liked the simplicity of the scene. It was a gloomy day so the picture was naturally in black and white so I decided it would look okay with just sharpie. I don't particularly like how the bench turned out, but I guess the crookedness could represent how old and lonely the place is since no one has resumed a seat on the bench in a while.

New Years project
The project was designed to show your New Years resolutions, but I didn't have any for myself so I used a few of the top resolutions of the 2014 year. To eat healthier, better grades, recycle more, to go to the gym more often and making more money were in the top ten so since I had already started drawing the female face in graphite I just decided to open her head to show all of her thoughts rather than completely starting over. The resolutions were all drawn in colored pencil. I think the woman looks alright, but not as shaded as dark as it could be. This was my first attempt at a colored pencil piece and I think it shows because I couldn't blend very well. Overall, I think the project fit the criteria but I'm not very pleased with the outcome.
This project was done for the assignment in my drawing class "draw from your own picture". The girl I used as my reference photo is one of my friends and I thought her eyes looked cool so I decided to draw her. I originally drew this piece in graphite but traced over her eyes and hair in sharpie, leaving the shading on her face graphite, while the flowers on her hair are colored in colored pencil. I don't think it turned out very well because the shape of her eyes don't match the picture and the flowers don't look very realistic, I need to continue trying to advance in blending of colored pencils.

I found my inspiration for this piece on Pinterest because I was searching for artwork that could be done in sharpie with simple line work and I decided this fit the criteria. I really like how simple but beautiful this turned out, the little but bold color I think gives it a nice touch and I also like how neat and crisp the lines are. I'm most like going to continue with this kind of work, incorporating the flowers and ladybugs into other works.
